Hello and welcome to this site. This site is designed to allow podiatrists, foot & ankle orthopaedists, students, the public and all health care professional’s internet access to podiatry articles of interest. This site is primarily designed for residents, their directors and private practioners and educators to share case studies and information in digital format. Each volume number will correspond to a year. This journal will officially have its start on January 2007 with introductory articles by the publisher prior to January 2007. Each numbered volume will contain case entries of interest for their respective month. For example, all entries for Volume 1, No. 1 can be accessed in the December 2006 Archive. Volume 1 represents 2006; No. 1 represents December, and so on. This site is partially modeled after the Dermatology Online Journal.
Features of the Podiatry Internet Journal
- Complete article presentation including abstract, body of work and references.
- Resource guide for treatment modalities and standard of care issues in our field.
- Photo documentation of case studies including MRI, radiographic and clinical features and presentations.
- Comment features for instant topic and case study discussion in an open format.
- Long term follow up presentations on case studies and updated topics in podiatry.
I’m sure more features will be added to this site as it grows. You can get more information on submission of manuscripts and presentation within this site.
Editorial Policies
The Podiatry Internet Journal is a peer-review journal. Article submission will be reviewed by two independent editors of this site. Content and acceptance of material will be based on the relevance to the field of podiatry. Manuscript style should stay consistent with typical journal articles seen in publication. The primary language should be English.
Goals and Future Course
We hope that this format will help to generate information, commentary and add to the educational process. The field of podiatry continues to change and treatment protocol and techniques also change over time. It is the Journals attempt to stay abreast of these changes and new innovations that present in our field.
